“Aligned Inspired Action”
My journey after coming out in 2007 was certainly a roller coaster ride, but I was always determined to move forward, and learn from all of my experiences. Sure that rollercoaster ride saw me move between some deep lows and a couple of deep highs, but I always managed to make changes to live a better life. In the beginning, this process was slow, but as time passed, changes were actioned more quickly. Today, things are more aligned, and my actions are inspired more deliberately in achieving each goal I set for myself. Sometimes, I don't even have a specific goal, just simply a vision of where I want to be, and that is not actually a place or a job position, it's actually a level of happiness and self-actualisation. Following the passing of my late Aunty Gail in November 2023, I visited Bundaberg for what was to be a few days, and arrived on a Tuesday. By the Friday morning, I realised I needed to live on Bundaberg's Coral Coast, and I needed it to happen immediately. I honestly didn't know what was behind this burning desire, but it was so strong, I made the whole move happen within three weeks. I was very fortunate to have met a couple of months earlier, two friends who allowed me to temporarily stay in their home, until I got on my feet in the Bundaberg region. I thank Ray and Benji immensely for being at the forefront of my new beach lifestyle in the stunning Bundaberg region. Since returning to the Bundaberg region, I have learned so much about myself. In December 2023, I thought by returning and finding my true authentic self I would become a different person, but what I am learning, is I am the same person that was born in 1968, but now, I am permitting everything about me to 'come out', rather than suppressing it, and "trying to be someone" else, in order to hide and protect myself from harm (physical, verbal, psychological and neglect) by homophobic members of society. I was once invisible to protect myself, but not anymore. I have a new sense of purpose, and everything I do now is 'aligned inspired action' so I continue to evolve and live my very best life. I quite simply keep going as far as I can see, and when I get there, I see further, and then I keep going, and repeat!
